Isn't there a mistake in the title?
I thought the singer should be Zhou Xuan, and not Yao Li.

This song was really sung by Yao Li.

At that time, Yao Li was very young (about 16 years old) and so was her voice.

I love this great classic ! I think nowadays this song has been recorded as Chinese New Year song. Good becos the younger generation would have the chance to enjoy the great classics. It is all due to the great untiring efforts of peoples like Zoundcraker, KaiserPCS, Europe235 and the rest in YouTube. Keep up the wonderful works.

My older brother loved this song when we lived in Guangzhou in the late 1940's. I wish he could hear it again, too. Unfortunately, he left this world last year. Thank you very much for your efforts in uploading all these wonderful music, and providing the lyrics, too.
